Around five years ago we moved to beautiful Upper Wensleydale where I have been able to pursue my love of ceramics full-time.
I have been making pots and sculpture since I was very young. For five years I was working with clay almost everyday. After completing a summer of teaching pottery I followed a totally different career path.
During my working life I discovered the stress relieving, relaxing benefits of sculpting with clay.
My ideas come from what I experience everyday, running and walking in the fields and hills where we live.
All my work is hand-built individually so that each piece is unique.
A proportion of the money from sales of work goes towards my not for profit classes. I run workshops for small groups charging a minimal amount for materials and costs. My referrals are usually made via charities.
My idea is to introduce those who could not afford lessons to experience the joy of working with clay. My introduction to clay was at school many years ago something that is almost unheard of now.
If you are such a group/charity please contact me.
I am now part of a local cooperative. We are open everyday in the beautiful village of Askrigg. Come in and view my ceramics and the wonderful handmade crafts of many local artists. We staff our own shop, we know our products and provide real customer service.
